Laser Hair Removal is a medical procedure that uses concentrated laser light to destroy hair follicles that results in no further hair growth. During the treatment the laser emits light absorbed by pigmentation also known as melanin in the hair. The light energy is converted onto heat, which damages the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth.
A typical session lasts 30-60 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Ultrasound gel will be applied on the specific area to enhance the treatment's effectiveness, ensure patients comfort and protect the skin.
On average most individuals need between 6-12 sessions to achieve optimal results, but various factors may influnce the amount of sessions needed such as hair colour and thickness, skin tone, hormonal factors and area being treated.
These sessions are typically spaced 4-8 weeks apart to target hair during its active growth phase (anagen phase).
After completing your initial series of treatments, maintenance sessions are required to ensure long-term hair removal. Maintenance sessions are generally recommended once every 6-12 months.
